Prague Zoo is a roughly 60-hectare zoological garden on the Vltava River, home to more than 5,000 animals across over 650 species, and is the Czech Republic’s second-most-visited attraction after Prague Castle.
Founded in 1931, the zoo has grown into one of the world’s most highly ranked zoos and is known for Elephant Valley, its largest exhibit, and a pavilion housing the largest collection of critically endangered Chinese giant salamanders in Europe.
Hours vary by season, generally opening at 9 AM and closing between 4 PM and 7 PM depending on the month, so it’s worth checking the current schedule before visiting.
