Montmorency Falls is an 83-metre (272-foot) waterfall on the Montmorency River just east of Québec City, taller than Niagara Falls and one of the most visited natural sites in the province.
Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, managed by Sépaq, offers a suspension footbridge over the crest, a cable car connecting the base to the clifftop Manoir Montmorency, and a via ferrata and zipline for more active visitors; a staircase of nearly 500 steps also links the two levels.
The park is open daily year-round, generally 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., though the cable car, staircase, and via ferrata run on their own seasonal schedules and the site is closed December 25; check Sépaq’s website for the current day’s hours before visiting.
