Jardin Majorelle is a landscaped garden in Marrakech created by French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s-30s and later restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé. Cobalt-blue pavilions and pathways set off dense plantings of bamboo, cacti, palms, and bougainvillea in a compact, densely shaded oasis.
The grounds include the Berber Museum of African art housed on site, and the separate Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech stands just outside the garden gates for visitors who want to extend the visit. A single ticket booked through the official site is required for garden entry.
The garden is open daily, with slightly different hours for the adjoining private Villa Oasis garden, which closes on Wednesdays. Mornings are cooler and less crowded; because tickets are timed and limited, booking online in advance is strongly recommended rather than arriving without a reservation.
