New York-New York opened on the Las Vegas Strip on January 3, 1997, its towers styled after the Manhattan skyline complete with a scaled-down Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge replica out front. The resort was developed by MGM and Primadonna Resorts as one of the Strip’s most elaborately themed properties of the era.

Its signature attraction, the Big Apple Coaster, opened alongside the hotel in 1997 and threads through the casino’s rooftop skyline with a 180-foot lift hill, two inversions, and taxicab-themed trains; the ride’s trains were upgraded in 2021 for a smoother experience.

Inside, a New York-style streetscape recreates Greenwich Village with themed bars and eateries. The property is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International and remains one of the most photographed facades on the Strip.
